George has an extensive and varied career as an entrepreneurial senior executive and director. Having founded four start-ups, he possesses significant strategic, operational and technical skills and a longstanding interest in the role of technology in innovation.
He developed a passion for medical research through his work at Research Ventures, a start-up he founded to support the development and commercialisation of the life sciences. He has previously consulted to CSIRO and advised a number of start-ups and non-profits around the world, including, most recently, the Charlie Teo Foundation.
George has a deep understanding of the social change sector and of philanthropy’s role and capacity, having been involved with non-profits personally and professionally for more than two decades and been active in philanthropy specifically for over six years. He is a former member of Philanthropy Australia’s New Gen program and knows PA and many of its members very well.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney and a Master of Business Administration from the University of New South Wales. He is a graduate of the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has served on a number of boards.
