The next biennial Philanthropy Australia Conference will be held at Dockside Conference Centre, Cockle Bay Wharf, Sydney, on Tuesday 4 September and Wednesday 5 September 2012.

The conference theme is Making Philanthropy Our Business, with keynote speakers as well as four concurrent themes on:
- Emerging Issues in Philanthropy (e.g. in the areas of governance, investment / financial policies, grantmaking, regulation);
- Social Investment (e.g. new ways of financing, investment with financial returns, applicability of business principles);
- Towards Positive Outcomes (e.g. social media, overcoming barriers, education);
- Effective Practice in Grantmaking (e.g. models of innovative practice, sharing effective practice, measuring impact, advocacy, partnerships, collaboration, benchmarking).
