The Impact100 model is simple. 100 donations of $1,000 are combined to raise $100,000 annually, and granted to an organisation that can have a real and measurable impact. Whilst Impact100 Sydney is the first group to establish this model in Sydney, they are one of 60 communities around the world that see enormous benefits in collective giving.
Each year members choose which project to fund from a short list of well-researched projects with outstanding prospects for making a significant impact on the Sydney community.
Their first focus area is young people at risk. Impact100 Sydney want this to be a significant grant that will have an extraordinary impact on the receiving charity, taking the organisation to another level with significant funding, meeting a compelling and urgent need and advancing their vision in a great leap. Although only one project will receive funding, all finalists will benefit from raised public awareness.
The 2017 Philanthropy Meets Parliament Summit brought funders, nonprofits and policy makers together for two days of inspiring keynotes, case studies and challenging conversations about philanthropy’s role in advocating for change.
