Getting Involved in Philanthropy
You don't have to be wealthy to give, nor do you necessarily have to be giving money. Philanthropy is the voluntary donation of money, goods or time for the public good - sometimes called "time, talent or treasure". There are many ways to get involved even if you don't have the wherewithal to establish a philanthropic foundation.
This section is intended as a general guide to those people wanting to get involved. Your different options may include:
- Giving to charity (choosing the best organisation for your financial donation)
- Making a bequest (leaving assets in your will to a charitable cause)
- Volunteering your time
- Donating professional skills ('pro bono' work)
- Donating Assets (material goods, property, art, etc.)
- Online Giving (financial donations, seed funding, micro-volunteering, microfinancing, resource donation matching)
Browse this section to find out which option is most appropriate for you.
