Awarded Charities
Philanthropy Australia's Members sponsor a number of awards in the not-for-profit sector.
Here are links to further information on the awards themselves, including information about their recipients.
Australian Business Arts Foundation (AbaF) Awards (2007 winners)
The annual AbaF Awards are presented to publicly acknowledge and celebrate best practice in private sector support for the arts and culture through partnering, volunteering and giving. The AbaF Awards occur at a state level as well as nationally. Each of the six state categories is judged first at state level, with each state winner then competing against the other state winners for the national Award in that category.
Equity Trustees Not-for-Profit CEO Awards (2006 winners)
The annual Equity Trustees NFP CEO Awards recognises outstanding leaders of Not For Profit organisations. While the work they do is just as challenging as that of their colleagues in the corporate sector, their enormous contribution often goes unheralded. Yet without their dedication and that of their staff, the communities they serve would be all the poorer. The purpose of these awards is to redress that balance by giving Not For Profit organisations the profile they deserve.
PriceWaterhouse Coopers Transparency Awards
Transparency is of growing importance to the not-for-profit sector. It allows donors to make informed decisions about who they give to; it helps keep staff and volunteers motivated; it lets directors demonstrate their organisation’s integrity; and it helps to build confidence among an often cynical public. The PwC Transparency Award gives not-for-profit organisations a valuable opportunity to prove that they take the issue of transparency seriously.
PricewaterhouseCoopers has collaborated with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia in Australia to launch the PricewaterhouseCoopers Transparency Award which is designed to
recognise the quality and transparency of reporting in the not-for-profit sector.
