Addressing misconceptions and enhancing trust in the charity sector

Greater transparency is the key to building public trust and confidence in charities. It is up to the charity sector, including the ACNC as the national regulator, to be proactive in this aspect, helping donors understand the complexities of a charity’s operation.

ACNC Commissioner, Susan Pascoe AM, explores the concept of public trust and confidence in charities and proposes a group effort involving charities, the public and the regulator, to address misconceptions about administration costs and their link to effectiveness.
