A huge crowd packed the Melbourne Recital Hall this week to hear Andrew Forrest and Graham Tuckwell in conversation as proceedings kicked off for the 2014 Philanthropy Australia Conference. Forrest admitted Tuckwell’s landmark $50 million donation to ANU in early 2013 inspired him to make his own $65 million gift to Western Australian universities, while a modest Tuckwell noted that “It’s not what you’ve got, but how you use it,” and that giving time, in his opinion, was just as important as giving capital.
