In an Australia where we’re seeing the rise of collective giving circles, a growing awareness of the positive impact of giving and an increase in place-based community organisations servicing community needs, you would expect to see an increase in giving statistics. But sadly, the recent released tax statistics show zero growth in those who give money to charitable causes.
An exciting movement within corporate philanthropy is ‘Pledge 1%’ which aims to transform the corporate social responsibility (CSR) landscape in Australia and globally. The Pledge 1% program encourages organisations to give 1 per cent of equity, time and product.
