Why Your Role Matters:

The Philanthropy Officer is an exciting opportunity to build UNSW’s fundraising program. Reporting to the Head of Development, you will implement philanthropic strategies and build relationships to help reach our fundraising goals. This is a highly impactful position making a real difference in areas like climate change, renewable energy technologies, conservation and mental health across Science and Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage a personal portfolio that has the potential to make a significant philanthropic gift
  • Work collaboratively with academic leaders to identify areas that require support
  • Prepare proposals, solicitation letters, and other cultivation materials
  • Collaborate to develop gift ideas and strategies whilst ensuring we are compliant with current ATO standards
  • Execute an annual work plan to maximise effectiveness and ensure KPIs are achieved

Who You Are:

  • Experienced in Philanthropy, donations or advancement highly regarded
  • A people person, able to build relationships and communicate effectively
  • A background in account management or business development is beneficial
  • Experience working effectively in a large complex organisation with various stakeholders
  • Described as a team player, creative, proactive, resourceful and organised individual
  • Knowledge of fundraising and tax laws that impact charitable giving, personal assets and estates
