New appointments from across the sector - February 2022

As we head into 2022, here are two of the latest appointments across the sector.

Samantha Sayers appointed Head of Foundation of Origin Energy Foundation

Samantha Sayers will be joining Origin Energy Foundation as Head of Foundation commencing 4 April 2022. Sam brings significant leadership experience in strategy development, social innovation, philanthropy and community development. Sam has previously held non-executive director roles with not-for-profit organisations, serving on the YWCA Sydney Board, and as Chair of its Marketing Committee. She also served as a board member of Kids First Australia, previously Children’s Protection Society (VIC). Sam joins Origin from the Australian Scholarships Foundation, which she has led as CEO since 2017. Sam replaces Sean Barrett who led the Foundation since its inception in 2010, and resigned at the end of 2021 to return to full time study. Read more here.

Matthew Cox appointed as Executive Director of The Bryan Foundation

Matthew’s appointment strengthens and enhances The Foundations’ management expertise and experience and will be particularly beneficial following the commencement of FamilyLinQ – an integrated school-based hubs initiative that connects education, health and community services – in collaboration with the Queensland Government.

Before joining the Foundations, Matthew was the founding Executive Director of Logan Together, which is one of Australia’s largest child development programs. Over the past eight years, Logan Together has pioneered the use of collective impact approaches to make large-scale community change. Matthew replaces Geoff McMahon who has worked with the Bryan Family Group and its associated companies for over 30 years. Read more here.
