Philanthropy plays a vital role in Australia by supporting the diverse, vibrant and innovative charities, not-for-profits and community groups that form the ‘social capital’ that strengthens communities right across our country.
The use of private wealth for public good assists those in need in our community, promotes culture, protects our environment, and makes a difference in many other areas. Philanthropy also works in partnership with charities to address the systemic causes of the complex social problems facing our nation.
In the 2019 Federal Election, Philanthropy Australia called upon the Government, Opposition and all political candidates, to support of top 10 policies for a More Giving Australia. We also invited our members and the wider community to support our Federal Election campaign priorities. We now continue to pursure them as our key policy priorities with the Federal Governement.
