Uncle Kim Collard named NAIDOC Week Male Elder of the Year

Uncle Kim Collard, Balladong/Wadjuk Elder of the Noongar Nation, was named Male Elder of the Year at the 2024 NAIDOC Awards this week. Kim has devoted himself to his professional and philanthropic endeavours, touching the lives of many. He was also the recipient of the First Nations Philanthropy Award at the 2024 Australian Philanthropy Awards for Bibbulmun Fund and WA Relief and Recovery Fund (held with the Fremantle Foundation). Krystian Seibert to be Philanthropy Australia’s ED, Policy, Government Relations and Research

Philanthropy Australia is delighted to welcome Krystian Seibert, taking over from Sam Rosevear. He has extensive experience shaping policy and regulatory frameworks, with a particular focus on philanthropy and the not-for-profit sector. Most recently, he served as an Associate Commissioner at the Productivity Commission, appointed by the Australian Government to jointly lead the Commission's 'once in a generation' philanthropy inquiry.

Williamson Community Leadership program

The Williamson Community Leadership Program is a unique, immersive, 10-month long program for experienced leaders. Often described as life-changing, the Williamson Community Leadership Program expands the way leaders see the world and transforms the way they exercise leadership. It pushes them to experiment – continually challenging how and why they lead – while building a trusted, life-long network. Melbourne Women’s Foundation Changemaker Grants

The aim of the Melbourne Women’s Foundation Changemaker Grants is to help improve the well-being of women in Metropolitan Melbourne. The Changemaker Grants ($80,000 Capacity Building Grant and $45,000 Enabling Grant) are available for two non-profit organisations striving to do outstanding work for the benefit of adult women, or women together with their families.

 

Applications will close Friday 9 August.

Social enterprise capability building grants

Social Enterprise Development Initiative (SEDI) Grants help social enterprises, including trading Indigenous owned or controlled organisations with a defined social benefit, grow their business, scale their impact and further their missions of creating positive social change. The grants, valued at up to $120,000 each, are targeted towards supporting social enterprises to be more effective and efficient in demonstrating and increasing social impact for the people and communities they exist to support.

 

The SEDI Grants program will run through to June 2026.
