Research highlights pressures experienced by young people today

Two important education reports were launched this week at an event hosted by David Gonski AC. The 2024 Australian Youth Barometer: Understanding Young People in Australia Today and the Independent Evaluation of the Raise Mentoring Program highlight the multiple demands on young people’s mental health. Williamson Community Leadership program

The Williamson Community Leadership Program is a unique, immersive, 10-month long program for experienced leaders. Often described as life-changing, the Williamson Community Leadership Program expands the way leaders see the world and transforms the way they exercise leadership. It pushes them to experiment – continually challenging how and why they lead – while building a trusted, life-long network. Leadership Victoria Foundation offers a limited amount of partial scholarships. Further information on scholarships can be viewed here.

Melbourne Women’s Foundation Changemaker Grants

The aim of the Melbourne Women’s Foundation Changemaker Grants is to help improve the wellbeing of women in metropolitan Melbourne. The Changemaker Grants ($80,000 Capacity Building Grant and $45,000 Enabling Grant) are available for two non-profit organisations striving to do outstanding work for the benefit of adult women or women together with their families.

 

Applications will close Friday 9 August.

The Bennelong Foundation aims to increase pathways to economic empowerment and social cohesion. 

Grants of up to $30,000 are available for initiatives that open education and employment pathways to those facing ingrained barriers to participation; and initiatives that develop community sport as a pathway to inclusion and cultural connection for those facing ingrained barriers to participation.

Grants available for rural communities to take climate action

FRRR’s Community Led Climate Solutions program (CLCS) is offering grants to not-for-profit organisations (NFPs) via two streams, with a total funding pool of $625,000 available for initiatives that address climate change at a local level.

 

Expressions of interest need to be lodged by 5pm AEST, 22 August, with shortlisted applicants notified by 4 September.

Pride Foundation Australia’s 2024 Large Grant Round

This grant round focuses on supporting sexuality, sex and gender-diverse (LGBTQIA+) refugees and people seeking asylum. Grant applications should be to the value of up to $20,000 over two years (if applicable).

2024 Annual Community Grant

Annual Community Grants are the core of the Foundation’s local investments. These grants focus on two areas that are consistently raised by the community as particular areas of need: employment and literacy. Organisations can apply for a maximum amount of $30,000 for their project. An information session will be held at 1pm on Monday 5 August 2024.

 

Applications close at midnight on Friday 30 August 2024.

2024 Innovation Grants open soon

The Innovation Grants round supports new ideas – large and small – that address the social and environmental priorities of the Foundation. Eligible Australian charitable organisations, whose projects or initiatives align with one or more of the Impact Area Outcomes listed below are encouraged to read the Innovation Grants guidelines and submit an Innovation Grant enquiry via the Foundation's online Grants Enquiry Form. The 2024 Innovation Grant round has two grant types: Seed Innovation Grants (Up to $50,000) and Scaling-up Innovation Grants (Up to $150,000). 

 

Application enquires open 12 August and close 2 Sep 2024.

Bupa Foundation Community Grants 

Community organisations have the opportunity to share in a total of $520,000 in grants, aimed at supporting programs that contribute positively to mentally healthy and sustainable societies. Funding of up to $10,000 is available for initiatives that align to one or more of the Bupa Foundation’s focus areas: 

  • Healthy minds - building mentally healthy and resilient communities 
  • Healthy planet, healthy people - supporting a healthy planet for healthy people 

Applications demonstrating a meaningful connection to Bupa will be highly considered.
