About this ROLE:

The Marketing and Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in implementing our long-term strategy to deepen engagement amongst our existing supporters, grow our brand and profile and grow our supporter base.

Reporting to the Maddie’s Vision CEO, you will grow awareness, engagement, and support for our vital research and patient and family support programs by delivering strategic marketing content and campaigns to convey the impact of our work and the inspiring stories of patients and families impacted by Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes.

This role is a 0.8 FTE (4 days/week) role reporting to the CEO. One of the work days must be a Monday and requires presence in our Melbourne CBD office. The remaining days will usually be working from home, with some additional travel to different sites and locations as required.

You are a great storyteller and aren’t reliant on big agencies and budgets to achieve results; you are strategic, creative and easily build relationships. You love working as part of a small, passionate team and are looking for a role that gives you space to apply the full breadth of your expertise to make a difference in a dynamic, growing organisation.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in communications, marketing or another relevant field
  • 6+ years marketing and communications leadership experience
  • Excellent partner/stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Excellent written communication skills across a variety of different channels, with the ability to communicate complex issues effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing, communications, and social media plans to deliver results
  • Demonstrated experience of digital marketing and communications platforms
  • Ability to report on marketing and campaign results
  • Experience using Content Management Systems
  • Highly organised with the ability to work autonomously and flexibly
  • Strong alignment and commitment to our mission and values

Desirable requirements:

  • Understanding of and/or experience in the not-for-profit sector
  • Basic photography and videography skills
