The Partnerships Manager will lead the development and delivery of BEING’s corporate partnerships strategy.

BEING – Mental Health Consumers is the independent, NSW peak organisation advocating for all mental health consumers in the state.

Our primary focus is to ensure the voices of people with mental health challenges are heard by decision-makers, service providers, and the broader community, to lead and influence systemic change across mental health services and systems.

BEING is a consumer-led organisation, with 100% of its board and staff with lived experience of mental health challenges. Our work is grounded in human rights principles of diversity, inclusion and equity, and we believe that recovery is possible for all people who live with mental health issues and emotional distress.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Partnerships Manager will lead the development and delivery of BEING’s corporate partnerships strategy. Working closely with the CEO and Board, this role translates strategic direction into meaningful, ethical, and financially sustainable partnerships that support BEING’s impact and long-term sustainability.

This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for building partnership pipelines, developing compelling value propositions, negotiating and stewarding high-value partnerships, and ensuring all partnership activity aligns with BEING’s values, constitution and consumer-led advocacy.

The Partnerships Manager reports to the CEO and works collaboratively across the organisation to embed a strong partnership culture.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of BEING’s corporate partnerships strategy.
  • Identify, assess and cultivate aligned corporate partners and opportunities.
  • Lead end-to-end partnership management, from prospecting and negotiation to renewal and stewardship.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across corporate, government, and not-for-profit sectors.
  • Ensure ethical alignment, risk management, and governance across all partnerships.
  • Track performance, income and impact, and report to the CEO and Board.

ABOUT YOU

You are an experienced partnerships or stakeholder engagement professional who brings both strategic thinking and strong relationship and stakeholder engagement skills. You are comfortable leading high-value conversations with senior decision-makers, navigating ethical and reputational considerations, and building partnerships that deliver shared value and impact.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing end-to-end partnerships, ideally in a values-led or not-for-profit context.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Sound judgement around ethics, risk, and values alignment
  • Experience working with CRM systems and managing budgets and reporting
  • A collaborative, self-directed, and outcomes-focused approach
