Philanthropy and Grants Lead
Friday, 1 Aug 2025
Join the Consumer Policy Research Centre as our Philanthropy and Grants Lead where you’ll build partnerships with people and organisations who want to back big ideas — helping us secure funding that makes everyday markets work better for everyone.
Drive meaningful change
At CPRC, we believe everyone deserves a fair go — whether you’re making sustainable choices at the supermarket, renting or buying housing, or navigating the hidden traps of the digital economy. We’re an independent consumer think tank that turns research and evidence into impact, shaping policy that protects people from unfair practices and rising cost-of-living pressures.
As our Philanthropy and Grants Lead, you’ll build partnerships with people and organisations who want to back big ideas — helping us secure funding that makes everyday markets work better for everyone.
Work type: Full-time (12 months) or part-time — flexible arrangements welcome
Salary: Competitive + superannuation (based on experience)
Location: Melbourne-based or within Victoria (with occasional in-person workshops/events)
About the role
Reporting to the COO and working closely with the CEO, you’ll build and lead CPRC’s revenue strategy — securing funding that directly enables research to create fairer, safer markets for Australians. You’ll find and pursue new funding opportunities, develop compelling grant proposals, and strengthen relationships with donors, grant-makers, and government partners.
You’ll be supported by a collaborative team that values professional growth, flexibility, and your wellbeing. This is your chance to use your fundraising expertise to fuel independent research that shapes policy — where your success directly translates into real-world change for millions of people. About you
You’re an experienced relationship-builder with a strong track record in major gifts or philanthropic funding, ideally in advocacy or policy. You know how to craft persuasive grant applications, analyse funding data, and manage multiple priorities in a small, collaborative team. You’re confident engaging stakeholders and genuinely committed to making markets fairer for all Australians.
