Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Philanthropy, this permanent full-time leadership role sits within Community Relations and is part of the RFDS Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Based at RFDS Jandakot Airport HQ, you will lead major gift programs and play a key role in a multi-year capital fundraising campaign to prepare the RFDS WA for a new generation as we head toward our centenary in 2028.

About you

You are an experienced, authentic philanthropy professional who builds trust and delivers results. You have:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years in philanthropy with success in major gifts, capital campaigns and planned giving.
  • Strong relationship management, stewardship and presentation skills with confidence to make the ask.
  • Strategic planning and project management capability with excellent written communication.
  • Proven ability to use a CRM for pipeline management and insights.
  • Excellent standards of professionalism, discretion, integrity and empathy, with a genuine connection to our mission.

Desirable

  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT or similar CRM.
  • Strong data analysis skills and content development for proposals and grants.
  • Event management experience and understanding of strategic communication channels.
  • Membership or willingness to gain membership with the Fundraising Institute of Australia and Philanthropy Australia.

About the role

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the Philanthropy team to achieve best practice across major gifts, bequests, trusts and foundations.
  • Drive the centenary capital campaign including case for support, donor pipeline, milestones, stewardship, reporting and support the involvement of the Board and executive team.
  • Manage a portfolio of mid and major donors with tailored cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans.
  • Mobilise senior leaders, Board and volunteers to engage philanthropists and champion our cause.
  • Oversee Gifts in Wills growth with targeted programs, events and stewardship.
  • Secure high value grants and collaborate on compelling donor materials and impact reporting.
  • Maintain ethical and legislative compliance including FIA Code of Conduct, Privacy Act and ACNC requirements.
  • Use CRM data to track relationships, forecast income and inform strategy, budgets and continuous improvement.
