Get ready: Philanthropy Australia Conference 2026
Australia’s biggest philanthropy conference returns in 2026, and it’s bolder than ever! We are thrilled to announce the theme for the 2026 Philanthropy Australia Conference: Mobilising Generosity, Shaping the Future.
More than 1,000 funders, changemakers and innovators will come together to connect, learn, and spark ideas that will mobilise and shape giving in Australia. The conference is for everyone who cares about creating positive social and environmental change. Funders, philanthropists, not-for-profits, social enterprises, advisors, networks, collaboratives – if you’re ready to make a difference, this is your place.
The core conference will take place from Tuesday 8 – Thursday 10 September, with optional Conference Fringe experiences on offer on Monday 7 September (Professional Development Masterclasses) and Friday 11 September (field trips). A Queensland Working Group is already working on an exciting program of excursions and field trips to social, cultural and environmental initiatives.
The Brisbane Festival runs alongside the Conference, making September the perfect time to visit and experience philanthropy alongside culture. Tip: book your accommodation early!
Why this theme?
In our 50th year, we’re rejuvenating generosity as something every Australian can embrace, linking it to justice, sustainability and long-term impact. The 2026 theme reflects a pivotal moment: a call for bold action, creative thinking and collective effort to shape giving. The re-energised format will embrace the theme with:
- Big ideas on stage: Insightful plenaries with high-profile speakers
- Fast and fiery: Lightning talks and debates
- Deep dives: Sector-led breakout sessions
- Connection that counts: Networking, themed dinners, and cultural performances
- Hands-on learning: Professional development masterclasses and field trips across Brisbane.
