Membership and Engagement team: update for members

Philanthropy Australia Fri, 2 May 2025 Estimated reading times: 1 minutes

Philanthropy Australia is sad to farewell two team members, Rachel Findlay and Wayne Green, who are both moving on to fantastic opportunities in the sector – one local and one international.

Rachel will be leaving Philanthropy Australia this month after nearly three years with the organisation, most recently as Executive Director of Membership and Engagement. Rachel is taking up a leadership position with the Siddle Family Foundation.  While a sad loss for PA, we are delighted that Rachel is staying in the sector.

Rachel’s tenure has a number of highlights, including the November 2024 Study Tour to the UK. She put together an inspiring itinerary for our funder members. Among her many successes at PA, Rachel was also the driving force in the recent re-launch of the PA membership model, which has been well received by members.  Our sincere thanks to Rachel for all she has achieved. Kim Harland is Acting Executive Director of Membership and Engagement.

Wayne Green (who has been covering as Director of Engagement VIC/TAS for Mary Chakola) is returning to the US to be the first Executive Director of a new Jewish foundation in Orlando, Florida.

Wayne’s professionalism and ability to hit the ground running have been invaluable. We’re especially grateful for the way Wayne has reconnected PA with the philanthropic community in Tasmania, reinvigorating those important relationships.  Pat Burke OAM has kindly agreed to step back into the senior role in Victoria and Tasmania until Mary Chackola returns from parental leave.
