PA staff updates: welcome back Mary Chackola, farewell Sophie Marcard

Philanthropy Australia is pleased to welcome back Mary Chackola to her role as Director of Engagement Victoria and Tasmania, following her 12 months of parental leave with her twin daughters. Mary has returned with a renewed energy and perspective and is excited to reconnect with members.
Mary works closely with members to provide support, facilitate connection and strengthen collaboration. Members will also continue to have the support of our Engagement Lead Asitha Bandaranayaka, who has provided invaluable continuity on member matters during Mary’s leave.
Together, Mary and Asitha will be working closely to ensure members are supported, connected and informed. Get in touch with Mary or Asitha to say hello, share updates or discuss how they can assist you in making the most of your member benefits.

Farewell Sophie Marcard
PA has also said goodbye to Sophie Marcard, who oversaw Marketing and Communications for the past three and a half years.
Sophie achieved much during her time at PA, including a rebrand, the redevelopment of the website, two PA conferences and two Canberra summits. She also initiated and chaired the Communications Peer Network, oversaw almost 150 editions of our newsletter and led countless member communications.
Sophie said: “I have had a fabulous journey at Philanthropy Australia. The philanthropic and not-for-profit sector has so many stories to tell, across a multitude of areas of impact. It has been a privilege to work at PA.”
Recruitment for Philanthropy Australia’s Director, Marketing & Communications is under way.
