Philanthropy Australia, in partnership with Fundraising Institute Australia (FIA) WA invites our community to come together and be part of this important conversation.

Our panel, including FIA CEO Katherine Raskob, will share their experiences, successes and challenges when attempting to break the narrative around ‘overheads’ being something to hide rather than a vital part of effective and sustainable goal delivery. 

As the Pay What it Takes campaign demonstrates, our sector is often placed in the unusual position of publicly competing to show who invests in their organisation the least. In an effort to be transparent, the sector has continued to build on the narrative that money invested in programs is good but as little as possible should be spent on overhead costs.  

As a sector, and within our own organisations, what is the impact of this belief? What are we doing to reframe the narrative and challenge practices around overhead costs?  And are we bringing our donors, funders, beneficiaries and wider community along with us on the journey?
