Philanthropy Professional Development Workshop Series 2012
After a successful pilot program in 2011 Philanthropy Australia will again run a Professional Development lunchtime workshop series specifically designed for workers in philanthropy, featuring topics requested by staff of Member organisations. Come along to hear specialist presenters on various subjects that affect your work and working practices, while enjoying an opportunity to network with sector colleagues over lunch.
They will be led by specialist presenters and held over Wednesday lunchtimes (12:00 - 1:30pm) in Melbourne. Numbers are limited to 20.
You can choose to participate in single workshops, or if you sign up for the whole series you'll be allocated a priority space for all workshops. Interstate workers are most welcome to attend.
Your organisation must be a current Full Member of Philanthropy Australia to attend.
Pricing
Cost per workshop: $90 incl. GST for each seminar including lunch.
To attend the series: A special price of $360 incl. GST to attend all five seminars. Please email workshops@philanthropy.org.au if you wish to attend all five.

Wednesday, 29 February 2012 This workshop will cover: the different elements of an integrated communications strategy including targeted ways to reach key stakeholders, government, media and the general public; real-life examples of philanthropic organisations that have positively harnessed their target audiences to achieve objectives.

Wednesday, 20 June 2012 This workshop will cover: a brief and broad introduction to social media; a detailed focus on the use of Linked-In and how this will not only enhance the individual's professional opportunities but increase the professionalism and connection of the philanthropic sector.

Wednesday, 25 July 2012 This workshop will cover: how foundations can apply the principles of evaluation to their funding activity; the factors that foundations should consider when approaching evaluation; different approaches that foundations can apply when designing and setting up evaluation systems.

Wednesday, 8 August 2012 This workshop will cover: tips for improving your project planning and management; a grantmaker's perspective - what to look for when assessing project management capability.

- Bookings are now conducted online using credit card payment - click on the registration link in the calendar above next to the workshop you wish to attend.
- Bookings are not guaranteed until payment is received and confirmation is provided by Philanthropy Australia. Confirmation of bookings will be provided with tax invoice. If no confirmation of booking is received, please contact Philanthropy Australia to confirm your place as no refund will be available for non-attendance.
- For cancellations less than 72 hours before workshop, no refund is available but substitute delegates are welcome.
- For cancellations more than 72 hours before workshop, seminar fee will be refunded less an administration charge of $20.
- Workshop places are not transferable to another date.
