The Opportunity:

The role of Grants Manager will be the cornerstone of our engagement with the charitable sector, liaising on behalf of our clients and establishing and co-ordinating grants from a variety of charitable entities. The Philanthropy Team is nationally based, and you will work across various projects, with accountabilities in Sector & Client Engagement, Project Management and Compliance. The role will also have responsibility for the Mutual Trust Staff Giving program – highly visible and awarded program that is supported across the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with charitable organisations on behalf of clients and in line with client focus areas/purpose of giving.
  • Supporting the grant making process including due diligence, assessments, preparation of board papers and grant agreements,
  • Coordinating across the grant cycle including grant payments, grantee reports, acquittals, and maintenance of client filed and the grants management system,
  • Researching and reporting on emerging sector trends, developments and best practice,
  • Quality improvements to ensure a premium level of service via our integrated client account teams.

About You:

We are seeking a values-aligned individual to join our Philanthropy Team. You will have:

  • 5 years’ experience gained in philanthropy, grant-making or not-for-profit organisations,
  • Relevant work experience or tertiary qualification in Law, Business/Commerce, Marketing, Public Policy, Public Health, International Development or similar,
  • Experience in managing and prioritising multiple stakeholders and managing projects to budgets, deadlines and outcomes,
  • Highly organised and methodical approach, with strong attention to detail and process,
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to present your findings in either written or verbal presentations,
  • Commitment to teamwork and the development of effective and positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders,
  • A passion to support the not-for-profit sector and advance the impact of family philanthropy in Australia.
