Job Profiles

Three full time,  Level 6 roles are available in the Grants and Community Development Unit. The Unit is responsible for providing effective, equitable and responsible grant making that responds flexibly to community needs. Every year we distribute over $100 million in impactful community grants.  This ranges from small scale grants to support the aspirations of volunteer community organisations through to multi-million-dollar investments tackling complex community challenges and supporting systemic change. 

A Community Investment Framework guides our grant-making priorities: inclusive thriving community, connected cultural experiences, protected sustainable ecosystems, a smart innovative society, and active healthy people.  

Manager Grants Development

1x Fixed-Term Full-Time (until 30 November 2023 with possibility of extension and/or permanency)

Reporting to the Senior Manager Grants Development, this role contributes to the leadership of the Grants Development team. This role is responsible for managing a small team of Grant Development Officers and overseeing relationship development, stakeholder management and grant assessment for its assigned regions and sectors.   

To thrive in this role, you’ll have experience in leading, coaching and developing teams and will be comfortable building and maintaining strong community and stakeholder relationships. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and get satisfaction from guiding and evaluating community-led grant proposals including applying your knowledge of community development principles to support great outcomes.  

Lead Grants Development and Partnerships

2x Permanent Full-Time

Reporting to the Director Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships, these newly created roles provide a unique opportunity to strengthen Lotterywest’s pro-active granting approach. This includes building and delivering partnership approaches with other funders (cross government, philanthropy and corporate) and working to develop and assess targeted and high impact grant proposals aligned to Lotterywest’s Community Investment Framework or focus areas.  

To thrive in this role, you’ll be someone with a sound understanding of social impact methodology, skilled in balancing strategy and pragmatism, and comfortable working with diverse stakeholders to help ‘connect the dots’ and facilitate outcomes.  An awareness of the interests and wellbeing of Aboriginal people and demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal communities/organisations will be highly regarded.  

Please note that all roles involve some regional travel, after hours work and representation at functions and events.

  • Experience in leading, collaborating and facilitating partnerships and project management. 
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability in providing excellent and timely customer advice and service
