Unite in the Fight for Change

Diabetes is the epidemic of the 21st century and the biggest challenge confronting Australia’s health system. There are currently almost 1.5 million Australians (about 5.5% of the population) living with all types of diabetes known and registered on the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS). In addition, there are up to 500,000 people living with silent, undiagnosed type 2 diabetes and around 1.2 million people who are hospitalised with diabetes-related conditions every year.

Diabetes Australia is committed to its vision of a world free from diabetes and is dedicated to reducing the incidence and impact of diabetes on people, health systems and society and is very grateful for the continued support of its loyal donor community, across those giving regularly to giving programs, those giving through their wills, corporate partners and through a variety of community fundraising activities and events.

With recent changes to its federated structure taking place in 2021, the National Group Leadership Team is committed to significantly building on its philanthropic income at the major and principal gift level, in support of its areas of research and other key programs.

The National Manager, Philanthropy will spearhead this new strategic approach and will set realistic income targets and resourcing requirements to achieve success. You will bring substantial experience working in a senior philanthropy role supported by a proven track record of success in significant philanthropic income generation and a true passion for the mission and vision of Diabetes Australia.
