Government inquiry into the implications of removing refundable franking credits

November 14th, 2018

On 19 September the Treasurer the Hon Josh Frydenberg MP asked the Standing Committee on Economics to inquire into the Implications of Removing Refundable Franking Credits. Upcoming public hearings are scheduled for 20 November in Sydney and 22 November in Melbourne. You can download Philanthropy Australia’s submission here.

Philanthropy Australia are aware that this is an important topic for our members and we will keep you up to date as the matter progresses. We also want to remind members of the commitment made by the Federal Opposition earlier this year to exempt charities, including philanthropic trusts and foundations, from their commitment to reform the franking credit system. You can read public comments from Philanthropy Australia on the announcement here.
