Hosted by: QCoal Foundation
Resilient regional communities are built on the pillars of health, education and liveability. QCoal Foundation develops programs in conjunction with communities across Queensland to deliver sustainable improvements over the long term.
In developing our programs the QCoal Foundation applies a social venture approach based on identifying community needs, supporting the development and trial of innovative solutions and capturing data during the trial phase to measure the effectiveness of the solution and track real community improvements over time. The trial results are then used as the basis to achieve a sustainable operating model to ensure the solution continues to deliver improvements over the long term.

Host: Sapphire Committe
Location: Glo House
The Sapphire Committee emulates its namesake jewel, fittingly, Queensland’s official state gem. Behind the elegance and style of a sapphire, the gemstone is a representation of clarity and integrity. This sentiment applies to the Sapphire Committee. A talented and dedicated collective of modern philanthropists with purpose: to create meaningful and lasting change for future generations. The committee raises funds for the Children’s Hospital Foundation to enable research and innovation, promote a legacy of support and care, and make an indelible impact on the children’s health landscape in Queensland.
Inspired by Brisbane after dark, this year’s Sapphire Gala will unfold in an elevated botanical setting featuring deep moss, warm tones, soft ivory and metallic accents, with florals that feel grown, never arranged.
Tickets on sale soon.

Hosted by: The Funding Network
TFN is Australia’s largest collective giving movement. They build bridges between business, philanthropy and the social sector, transforming compassion into action. They enable grassroots non-profits and social enterprises to access the capital, skills, connections and visibility they need to thrive.
Alongside their flagship live collective giving events, they offer their event model and impact storytelling workshops to the broader philanthropic sector, companies and government. This generates earned income for TFN, reduces reliance on philanthropic funding, and deepens a culture of giving right across Australia.

Wednesday 3 June 2026
Hosted by: Ready Communities
Many community initiatives begin with strong ideas and generous funding, yet some gain momentum while others struggle to take hold. In regional communities this challenge can be amplified by distance, smaller local ecosystems and limited access to support. While philanthropy is increasingly interested in supporting regional Australia, the options often sit at two extremes: flying in experts for short interventions or committing to long and cost intensive place-based programs.
This session introduces the readiness approach, shares case studies and insights from our work with regional communities, and highlights new initiatives beginning in Queensland this year. Participants will explore how strengthening these foundations can help communities become investment ready and translate ideas and funding into lasting impact.

Venue: Brisbane Powerhouse
We are incredibly fortunate to welcome keynote speaker Matt Formston. Matt’s extraordinary journey spans surfing giant waves as a legally blind athlete with just 2% vision, to starring in the acclaimed Netflix documentary The Blind Sea.

Recognised as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) and holder of the Guinness World Record for the largest wave surfed by a para surfer, he continues to redefine what’s possible, break barriers, and inspire audiences worldwide.
