In a landmark session in the Victorian State Parliament last night, the first treaty with First Peoples and government in Australia was passed into law by the Upper House after a decade-long journey. Philanthropic backers have played a role as allies and funders of the movement, but there is more to do and now is the time.

Diabetes Victoria launching Capital Impact Loan for translational research

Diabetes Victoria is using an innovative financing tool developed by Perpetual Ltd. to raise long-term, flexible funding for research into a disease affecting more Australians than ever. Called a Capital Impact Loan, private and public ancillary funds are being invited to invest.

WINGS Asia-Pacific Working Group set to strengthen philanthropic ecosystem

In a significant step toward strengthening philanthropy across the Asia-Pacific region, WINGS – the only global network of philanthropy support and development organisations – has launched its Asia Pacific Working Group. This regional forum will elevate local philanthropic voices and connect them to global conversations.

Women take centrestage at The Funding Network’s First Nations Crowdfunding Event

The annual First Nations Crowdfunding event, held by The Funding Network, will for the first time showcase an all-women line up of finalists. All leading high‑potential, community‑defined programs, they will pitch for untied funding to philanthropists, corporate partners, peers and everyday Australians.
