Since 1997, the RACV Community Foundation has approved grants worth more than $3.7 million to more than 300 Victorian charities. Grants are awarded to grassroots community service organisations to increase mobility in Victorian communities with a view to enhancing social cohesion, safety and/or environmental sustainability. Previously projects to have benefited from the Foundation include a roaming karaoke crew at aged care facilities across the state, and regular horse-riding sessions for children and adults with disabilities.
In conversation with Nicole Richards at the Philanthropy Meets Parliament Summit, Daniel Lee shared his insights on topics including the role of philanthropy as a driver of systems change which addresses root causes of social challenges, the relationship between philanthropy and government and what the new political environment in the United States means for philanthropy.
