Cross-border recognition model for charitable fundraisers submission 2020

Our submission provides feedback on the proposed cross-border recognition model for charitable fundraisers.

The NSW Government was working with other Australian states and territories (except for Northern Territory) and the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission (ACNC) to examine how to reduce regulatory burdens for charitable fundraisers that operate across Australia.

A cross-border recognition model was being considered. The proposed model would allow a charity registered with the ACNC to be automatically deemed as holding authority in all participating Australian states and territories. The Charitable Fundraising National Working Group released a discussion paper on the proposed model and invited members of the public to provide feedback. Philanthropy Australia’s submission provided feedback on the proposed recognition model.
