Philanthropy’s growth rate spotlighted in ACNC’s Charities Report

Schools Plus receives $300 million grant from Google

Google’s philanthropic arm, Google.org has provided funding to help children and young people from less advantaged backgrounds access the digital, AI and critical thinking skills they need to thrive in the future workplace.

Save the date: Philanthropy Meets Parliament Summit

Where: Canberra, ACT

When: Tuesday 24 October

Now is an exciting time for philanthropy in Australia. The Government has pledged to work with the philanthropic, not-for-profit and business sectors to develop a Strategy to Double Giving to Charity by 2030. Politicians from all sides of the Parliament are turning their attention to how they can help foster a more generous Australia.

Philanthropy Australia is continuing to work to arrange great speakers and topics for the Summit and we’ll have more to announce – including a full program – in the months ahead.

Please save the date. General registrations will open on 30 June 2023.

Psychological wellbeing and long-term disaster response

Australians and New Zealanders are navigating the medium-long term effects of natural disasters and the very real mental health risks to the people they impact. 

Join Clinical Psychologist, Dr Rob Gordon OAM, and Kate Sclater of the Rata foundation to learn about the potential impact and support required to help people who have experienced the trauma of flooding, cyclones or bushfires.

Rapid Response Referendum Grants

Australian Communities Foundation is calling for applications from organisations and community groups amplifying First Nations voices for a resounding YES in the upcoming Referendum. One-off grants of between $2,500 and $15,000 are available for initiatives that elevate First Nations voices and leadership within the Yes campaign, and enable accessibility of information about Voice, Treaty, Truth. The Foundation will be quickly distributing all available funds. Eligible organisations are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Impact 100 Grants targeting homelessness

Impact 100 Sydney will award two $100,000 grants later this year to organisations working alleviate homelessness. Sydney-based programs supporting people at risk of or who are experiencing homelessness are encouraged to apply. Ten semi-finalists will be selected from the pool of applicants and will be required to submit an additional written application and participate in a 45 minute ‘site visit’ (video call) with members in September. Up to six finalists will be selected to prepare live pitches for a grant event in November.
