The Eve Mahlab AO Gender-wise Philanthropy Award

The Eve Mahlab AO Gender-wise Philanthropy Award recognises and celebrates achievements in philanthropy that advance gender equity through direct investment in projects or organisations that support women and girls, or the integration of the gender lens.

Use our awards website to nominate someone for the Eve Mahlab AO Gender-wise Philanthropy Award.

Nominations are welcomed from Philanthropy Australia members, non-members, supporters and friends of our partner organisations.

The Australian Philanthropy Awards are open to all members of the Australian philanthropic and broader social change community. You are able to nominate your own organisation.

Nominations are assessed by the selection panel on the following criteria: 

1. Demonstrates gender analysis of the social issue being addressed.

2. Demonstrates how the funding supported women and girls, or applied a gender lens and contributed to better outcomes.

3. Demonstrates leadership in gender-wise philanthropy and advancing gender equality – for example, the commitment is evident in their philanthropic strategy, funding practices and/or influence.

Note: Nominations may be for an individual funder or a collaboration of funders.

This award is for initiatives that can demonstrate at least three years of impact.

Nominators remain confidential and only finalists and successful recipients are announced.

1. What is the social issue being addressed by this funding and what did the gender analysis of the issue reveal? (Criterion 1)

2. How has the funding supported women and girls, or applied a gender lens and contributed to better outcomes? (Criterion 2)

3. How did the funder demonstrate leadership in gender-wise philanthropy and advancing gender equality? (e.g. their commitment is evident in their philanthropic strategy, funding practices and/or influence)? (Criterion 3)

4. Why do you think this funder/funding initiative deserves recognition? i.e what can others in the philanthropy sector learn from this example as being good practice?
