Leadership Award

Nomination Closed

The Leadership Award recognises an individual, organisation or initiative with outstanding leadership qualities in vision, work, transformational approach or impact.

Use our awards website to nominate someone for the Leadership Award.

Nominations are welcomed from Philanthropy Australia members, non-members, supporters and friends of our partner organisations.

You can nominate an individual, organisation or initiative from the Australian philanthropic and broader social change community.

Current staff and board of Philanthropy Australia and members of the selection panel are not eligible to nominate.

Nominations are assessed by the selection panel on the following criteria:

  1. Approach to leadership that demonstrates good practice, innovation, inclusion or collaboration towards better philanthropy
  2. Examples of transformational impact of the leadership approach
  3. Demonstration of values such as respect, impact, trust, celebration, humility or sharing

This Award is for activity occurring in the last five years (2019 – 2023) – this may include design, funding, outcomes, delivery, evaluations or reporting.

Nominators remain confidential and only finalists and successful recipients are announced.

Questions to be addressed in a short (1-2 page summary or 2 minute video):

  • What is it about this individual, organisation, initiative, practice or approach that demonstrates excellence in leadership?
  • Why do you think this individual, organisation or initiative deserves recognition?
  • What can others in the philanthropy sector learn from this example as good practice?

Nominations for the Leadership Award:

  • open Thursday 7 December 2023
  • close Sunday 25 February 2024 at 11.59pm (AEDT)
